Flint is a city in Michigan, with a population of approximately 125,000 people. It is located along the Flint River, only 66 miles northwest of Detroit.Flint is the seventh largest city in Michigan, as well as the county seat of Genesee County (which lies in the Flint/Tri-Cities region of Michigan).

When people hear of Flint, the first thing to come into mind is General Motors (GM). Flint is the birthplace of General Motors and the Flint Sit-Down Strike in the 1930's played a major role in creation of the United Auto Workers.

Unfortunately, Flint has also become a symbol of the decline in the auto industry, since film maker Michael Moore created the 1989 documentary film Roger & Me. It dealt with the impact that the closure of several of Flint's GM manufacturing plants in the late 1980s and what that did to the city and nearby area's population.

There are a number of other major corporations here, including the headquarters of Citizens Republic Bancorp (formerly known as Citizens Commercial and Savings Bank), which has remained in its original location in downtown Flint since its formation in 1871.
